Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Associate position is responsible for performing a variety of Field research data collection and logistics functions, including managing, reviewing, and preparation of all processes related to setting up, recruiting and conducting research projects, for both online and in-person projects. The Field Associate is also responsible for controlling and maintaining job costs, establishes work priorities on a daily basis, checks survey links for programming accuracy, and works with outside vendors, including field agencies, online panel providers and the company’s travel partners. Assignments are carried out in accordance with general work instructions and established company practices, procedures and precedents. Based on the experience level hired, which will affect title and job duties, the position may also be responsible for project estimating, as well, as leading in-person Central Location Tests (CLT’s) for the Field Department.

The Field Associate may also be asked to perform a variety of tasks associated with copy proofing and editing, including but not limited to double-checking language and suggesting edits to research proposals and reports, developing project documents and other company materials.

The employee must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, as well as traveling on an as-needed basis (usually no more than 10% of the time but will vary based upon in-person project workload) to represent the department on in-person research sessions, managing travel, venues, as well as helping to set up the equipment. Must also be able to train temporary / supplier staffing and manage and communicate effectively with respondents during the sign-in process.


  • Strong project management and organizational skills and ability to multitask to manage a significant workload
  • High attention to detail (both verbal and numeric)
  • Confidence to exercise independent judgment and provide feedback/updates to internal teams
  • Strong communication skills to effectively work with suppliers and internal departments on a day-to-day basis
  • Client focus – making the client needs the primary focus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint (Mac familiarity, helpful not required)
  • Experience in marketing research, marketing, or professional services firm is preferred but not required.
