With an expansive fitness center, highly regarded early childhood school and senior center, arts and cultural events offered throughout the year, and classes for every age, the JCC connects, enriches, and inspires over 27,000 visitors per month. The Senior Designer is responsible for creating design solutions that have a high visual impact. The role involves listening to clients (internal & external) and understanding their needs before making design decisions. The Senior Designer oversees the development of creative ideas and concepts, choosing the appropriate media and style to meet the client’s objectives. This position demands flexibility, creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of industry software, and a professional and knowledgeable approach to time, costs, and deadlines.

  • Work with Marketing Director to oversee and maintain Mayerson JCC branding in all materials and guidelines by adhering to brand standards.
  • Lead presentations of all creative concepts.
  • Design and produce a broad range of print publications including brochures, flyers, promotions, event programs, etc., as well as manage vendor relations and distribution of these materials.
  • Ability to develop a concept for a project and take it through final execution with multiple touch points, including knowledge of pre-press production and digital requirements, and working with external and internal vendors.
  • Design a broad range of advertising, both print and online, including display ads, digital monitor ads, signs, collateral materials, newsletters, emails, digital signage, website and social media graphics.
  • Design and manage internal and external design-driven displays, advertising, and signage.
  • Work with partner agencies and organizations to develop joint advertising and materials.
  • Coordinate scheduling of marketing print pieces in relation to department calendars and print/mail house logistics.
  • Manage the workload of all creative with Marketing Director and/or Project Manager.
  • Staying current on best practices and sharing with others.
  • Other duties as required.


  • College graduate with 4+ years of full-time graphics-related work experience.
  • Must be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Bridge; Mac platform; video editing and WordPress not required, but preferred.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate very strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must demonstrate excellent creative development and computer software skills.
  • Be a self-starter who is able to work independently and efficiently.
  • Be flexible and able to effectively handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Be able to effectively work with a broad range of people in different departments.
  • Be a team player and assist other Marketing staff in completing department projects.

$55,000-$65,000 annual salary based on experience
